In today’s episode, we are talking about the impact of individual actions and how they can add up to make a big difference. In 2019, Pankaj Rajankar and Sandesh Shinde founded Green Cell ATL, a grassroots organization with a mission to increase environmental awareness amongst their family, friends, and community. In one year alone, they saved at least 24,000 plastics plates, 24,000 plastic spoons, and 26,000 plastic water bottles from entering the landfill. Pankaj and Sandesh speak with Jaiko about the origin of Green Cell ATL, some of the projects they have accomplished over the past year, and how everyone has the ability to make sustainable choices in their personal lives. In the second half of the episode, Jaiko speaks with two of the youth members of Green Cell ATL, Akhila Kothapalli and Mahitha Pothuri. These two inspiring youth members discuss the projects they have implemented in their schools and county while also providing perspective on how their generation views issues surrounding climate change and sustainability.
